Sentosa: Sentosa reveals the spirit of Singapore. A visit to Sentosa not only lets you experience nature by sun-bathing in its 3. 2 km long stretch of beach but also arrests its visitors with an array of activities to be explored. The Siloso Beach has many pubs and bars making it Singapore's Hippest hangout Beach. The tranquil beach of Tanjong attracts several tourists who like to have a peaceful time at the beach. For an up close encounter with nature, head to Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon to meet the friendly dolphins and other species of the ocean. The Butterfly Park is one of its kind theme parks that houses over 2,500 species of butterflies. Visitors can also enjoy a luxurious Spa regime at Spa Botanica or go for Fish Reflexology in the Underwater World where you can get a pedicure from a school of Turkish spa fish followed by a therapeutic foot pampering session by a qualified foot reflexologist. At Sentosa, you will just be spoilt for choice on how to spend your day. There are various accommodation options available on the island and you can choose to stay in one of the beach resorts at the island. You can reach Sentosa either by taking the air-conditioned Sentosa Express, taking a shuttle bus or by using the cable car to reach the island.

Kusu Island: Kusu is a small island that is sacred to both Muslims and Taoists. There are two shrines- a Malay shrine and a Chinese shrine on the island. Stunning views of the Singapore mainland are visible from Kusu beaches and its hilltops. The warm waters and the lagoon are ideal for swimming. The island can be reached by taking a ferry from Marina South Pier.

St John's Island: St John's Island is a large, hilly island with grass clearings, shaded walking paths and lagoons for swimming. It is a perfect weekend get-away spot and ideal for informal soccer. Tourists who like to laze around in the lap of nature can plan a day's trip to this secluded island. One can reach the island by taking a ferry from Marina South Pier.

Pulau Ubin: A visit to this island would serve as a get-away from the hustle of the pulsating urban life of Singapore city. This island showcases Singapore in the rural light. It has now been developed into a nature park by preserving the original heritage of the island, but upgrading it by a few amenities such as toilets and shelters, bicycle rental, trekking trails, camping sites and chalets. The island has a beach called Chek Jawa in its eastern tip on which marine life such as the horseshoe crab and sand dollar, a disc-shaped member of the star-fish family, thrive. A seafood restaurant offers delicious seafood for visitors. You can reach the island by taking the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) to Tampines Station (EW2) after which you have to board SBS bus 29 to Changi Village bus interchange, followed by a 10-minute boat ride from the Changi Point jetty.

A tourist can experience the "uniqueness" of Singapore by combining a tour around the city with a visit to the tranquil Isles of Singapore.
